    The World’s Columbian Exposition was held in Chicago in 1893. Many of today’s biggest brands were introduced including Juicy Fruit Gum. William Wrigley Jr., creator of Wrigley Gum, originally sold baking powder in Chicago. Mr. Wrigley noticed his customers were more interested in the gum he gave with his baking powder…a “true salesman” that he was, he switched to the chewing gum business.
